Debra Hawkins is a doctorally prepared, dual-certified Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist with more than 15 years of experience spanning emergency medicine, critical and complex illness, cardiovascular care, and bariatric medicine. Her specialized clinical expertise includes sepsis, dysautonomia, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), with a particular passion for caring for patients with complex, multifaceted conditions that require thoughtful, individualized care.
A published author, international conference presenter, and dedicated advocate for evidence-based practice, Debra works collaboratively with the Smith team to translate current research and clinical expertise into meaningful patient care. She is especially committed to expanding access to high-quality specialty care for patients in rural Oklahoma.
Outside of clinical practice, Debra is a proud Girl Scout leader who enjoys mentoring young people through leadership, STEM, and service.
